Safety glasses may be tax deductible if they are a work-related expense and you directly use them as part of you job. Here's some more info on specific uses that make safety glasses tax deductible:
Safety Glasses: If your place of work requires you to be in an environment where safety glasses are required.
Protective Sunglasses: If you work outdoors, and in harmful sunlight which exposes you to the risk of eye damage.
Some points to consider when claiming a tax deduction:
1) You must be able to show that wearing certified safety glasses has a direct and immediate connection to your place of work.
2) Adequately protects you from a real (or likely) risk of injury or illness.
The entire range of SafeStyle Eyewear are certified safety glasses - making them eligible for tax deductions.
Not working on a site? That's okay - UV from sunlight is always damaging, so you may be eligible for a tax deduction irrespective of your sites requirements.
Please check with your tax agent for information specific to you.
