Is this recycle bin for all protective eyewear or just SafeStyle?

You can recycle ALL protective eyewear brands in this bin, including goggles and face shields.

Why can't I recycle my glasses in a standard recycle bin?

Most safety glasses are made out of polycarbonate material which is not one of the recyclable plastics in Australia, which means it goes straight to landfill and can’t be put in a roadside bin.

Where will these glasses be recycled?

It will be taken to a specialised recycling facility in Australia.

What will they be turned into?

Because polycarbonate material is an extremely durable plastic, it takes a long time to break down in landfill but is a high quality material when recycled/ repurposed. This means, once recycled it can be used in a range of construction materials e.g. roofing materials, construction of bus shelters, hard hats and especially new eyewear.
