SafeStyle Eyewear making a life changing difference donating $75,000 to breast cancer research.

SafeStyle, redefining the safety glasses industry, are celebrating having raised over $75,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation through sales of pink frame SafeStyle glasses.

Breast cancer is a cause close to SafeStyle Managing Director Tim Lewis’s heart. Tim said, “13 years ago, my auntie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to NBCF’s help and after a long journey, she beat it and is now in remission. We know we are one of the lucky ones, 9 Australians still lose their life every day to breast cancer”.

Tim Lewis was a qualified plumber for 8 years in Perth WA, before founding SafeStyle in May 2017. “SafeStyle was a simple idea brought to life; one pair of safety glasses that are functional and stylish protecting your eyes from the worksite to the weekend,” he said.

“We knew that partnering SafeStyle with NBCF would enable us to truly make a life changing difference to our community.” said Tim Lewis, $5 from every pink pair of SafeStyles sold is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia which is why NBCF’s vision of zero deaths from breast cancer remains as critical as ever. Funding research is the key to stopping deaths from breast cancer.

Breast cancer affects men and women, the unfortunate truth is that nearly every single one of us will know someone or know of someone who has struggled with the disease. Cancer doesn’t discriminate, it’s a disease that can and does affect us all in one way or another.

“When I first started SafeStyle, I had always wanted to create a brand that could give back to the community and people in need. To think back to where we started in 2017 and now being a Corporate Partner to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, it’s a surreal feeling”, Tim Lewis continued.

Talking about the partnership, Tim’s aunt Michelle Franklin said, “I’m extremely proud of my nephew and when I heard that his first range of charity SafeStyle glasses were to raise funds for breast cancer research, I became overwhelmed with appreciation, what he’s done is nothing short of remarkable.”
