PARTNERING WITH TRADE LADY CLUB
SafeStyle are very proud to partner with Stefanie Apostolidis aka Melbourne Chippy Chick, founder of Tradie Lady Club.
Stef's journey from becoming a qualified carpenter to creating Tradie Lady Club was inspiring and emotional. “I wanted myself and other women to smash it out and do what we love. Being able to help women get their apprenticeships and succeed in trade careers was life-changing” says Stef.
Tradie Lady Club represents women who are in the trade business and support other women who desire to do the same. Stef's goal is to create more career opportunities for women that can change their lives. Tradie Lady Club aims at creating a community that’s steadfast in its belief in supporting and empowering women.
To celebrate Mother’s Day this year we have asked Stef who is a first-time mum, how she juggles work life and mum life. Read more below:
What are some of the most rewarding aspects of your job, and what keeps you motivated to continue working in this field?
Carpentry completes me in many ways. The daily challenges, accomplishments and laughs. I love everything about the trade, I love being on the tools out in the sun getting s#!t done.
Building structures that will make memories for families is a pretty amazing part of my job.
How do you balance work and mum life?
It's very hard as she is still young and I don't want to miss out on her early years. I'm lucky I am able to spend so much time with her. They grow so quickly and she will only be this little once. I'm working on site one day a week and working from home here and there to manage the TLC.
What are your tips for any mums getting back into work?
Strengthen your body again before going back into it 100%.
Try starting on lighter duties / lighter workloads.
How do you plan to celebrate Mother's Day this year?
This will be my first Mother's Day so counting on my husband to make it special, I will most likely be with the family and my mum of course.
